My child is 4 1/2 years old, can they join nippers? 
No. Surf Life Saving Australia states that children must be a minimum age of 5yrs to participate. 

My child is not a very good swimmer, do you run swimming lessons? 
No. While swimming is an important part of Surf Life Saving we are not qualified swimming instructors, we encourage you to enrol your child at one of the many swim schools on the coast. We have a minimum swimming standard requirement based on age that children must achieve. If your child can't meet the standard it may impede their ability to participate in water activities for their own safety. It does not stop them from being able to join

I can't swim, can I join the Surf Club?
Yes you can, not all roles in Surf Life Saving are water based. We plenty of land based opportunities such as radio operators, first aiders and fund raisers to name a few!!!!
